The story so far

All’s Fair (In Love & Tinder) was born in early 2016 when actors Kelly Michelle Gray and Christophe Philipps met on a film set, and Kelly pitched the idea of serialising her comedy dating blog.

The idea was simple: each episode would explore one of Kelly’s real-life dating disasters, and Christophe would play all her dates.

But all the best ideas are simple. . . And to make it as funny and relatable as it could be, we’d need to go balls-deep, warts-and-all (so to speak), keep our tongues wedged firmly in our cheeks – but keep it grounded. Luckily, some dates you just couldn’t make up.

Series 1 (Is the Loneliest Number)

Filmed with DoP Jake Day, Series 1 struck a chord with audiences tired of seeing the same old dating stories – that there’s plenty more fish in the sea; there’s someone right for everyone, etc, etc. . . Nah. We’d rather see dates go wrong than go right. Now that we can all relate to!

All’s Fair (In Love & Tinder) went on to attract thousands of views online, and generated real word-of-mouth buzz. #AllsFair – it was a hit!

Series 2 (Be or Not to Be)

That summer, Christophe began writing Series 2 – turning the idea on its head and showing his own real-life disastrous dates from the male perspective, with Kelly as all his dates. Who said dating was easier for boys than for girls?!

Working with DoP Mark Jones, sound technician Alistair Locke and production assistant Florence Watson, all six episodes of Series 2 were released in late 2018.

Series 2 has gone truly viral, with audiences hailing it as a fresh and funny take on dating – one not afraid to gross out, play it up and poke fun at both sexes while pulling at the heart-strings with characters and situations we can all relate to. It’s RomCom, but as you’ve never seen before.

And one thing is clear: we’ve only scratched the surface – there’s a rich world of real-life dating disasters yet to explore. . . And the best part is, we don’t even have to make them up – we really are that bad at dating!

All’s Fair – and beyond

Work is now underway on Series 3 (Is a Crowd), with – as the title suggests – a fresh twist: it’s not just Kelly, or Christophe, or one of their dates (to be played by Christophe or Kelly, of course) that are always the problem. . . Sometimes, it’s the other people, the third wheels, the friends, family, even exes, that make dating so painful – and painfully funny.

And recently, the team were approached to develop the concept into an All’s Fair feature film – combining the best bits from all three series into a single story. Think of it as a RomCom for our internet-dependent, post-millennial age. Watch this space!
